In Quarantine No Joke

Hey there,

I hope you and your family are well, and all you Moms out there had a great Mother’s Day!

Do you find that being in quarantine is no joke?

Finding your happy place or as the quote above states “find what brings you joy and go there” is not that easy right now.  What if your happy place is somewhere tropical, spa treatments, massages, getting your nails done, or just getting together with family and friends?  How are you achieving that mental state of “happiness” right now?  Are you visiting YouTube and doing tutorials (hand up:-) or have you been able to find other ways and means?  Yesterday was Mother’s Day, but apart from that how do we find that happy place with everyone being home. I’ve spoken to quite a few moms and fur-baby mamas and it’s a struggle finding some time for yourself being at home.  Yes, some of us have real problems like fighting this virus or caring for loved ones who are sick, and our hearts go out to you and your family. But apart from trying to get out of the rut and looking forward to the end of quarantine have you checked in with yourself.  This month is ‘National Mental Health Awareness’ month check out www.mhanational.org to learn more about programs and help if you need it.

Apart from enjoying a long-overdue

Mother’s Day Plant

bubble bath (again trying to find me time) which was interrupted quite a bit (by husband, child, and dog), I gave myself a pedicure which made me relax a little because one thing was off my list. This week’s schedule is below and we hope that you will make it online and get sweaty with us!  Yes, I did the usual baking this week….well actually twice, the first 2 carrot cakes I took 1 to the Bronx for my mother-in-law (mask and all) on Thursday and another on the same day to a friend in Danbury, the other I made after our hike to Steep Rock on Mother’s Day.  I’m not posting the cake this week, I don’t want to drag you into that hole with me, instead below is the plant I received for Mother’s Day and a pic from our hike across the bridge at Steep Rock.

I’m here if you need to talk or if you have ideas on how you find your happy place.  Have a wonderful and active week!

Wishing you continued health and wellness!

Simone
