Studio Policies

NEW CLIENTS

An introductory session is recommended but NOT mandatory for all clients new to Pilates and who have never taken a Pilates class before. For Reformer classes, private sessions are MANDATORY or Reformer 101, this is done to familiarize clients with the various Pilates equipment and to advise on proper use and safety.

STUDIO ETIQUETTE

  • Clothing should not be overly loose because teachers need to see your form and the movements of your body.  Legs do go in straps, therefore appropriate shorts should be worn for modesty.
  • Grip Socks are required and must always be worn during class. No exceptions. We require clients to wear a clean pair of socks for Pilates sessions for hygiene reasons.
  • Perfumes are lovely, but to be considerate of other clients with allergies and sensitivities, please do not wear scents or scented products while working out. Also, do not apply these products in the changing room after your workout.
  • Proper hygiene is expected, please be mindful of your body odor.
  • Please silence your cell phone before your class or session begins. Thank you for wiping down your mat and your equipment at the end of your group session!

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Should classes be canceled because of the studio’s doing due to weather concerns, teacher coverage, or no fault of yours, you will not lose the class but will have that class to use in the future.
  • Also, take note that there are 3 classes on the schedule each week that cover these options, should you miss a class, it is your responsibility to make up the class on another day.

CONTRACT CANCELLATIONS

  • Cancellation of your contract during your current 3-month contract period is NOT permitted, but we will happily end it after your contract ends. Please email us up to 2 weeks prior to expiration of the contract period. We will also email you 7 days prior to your contract expiration to remind you.
  • We will give you the option of canceling the contract within 7 days of purchase if you decide to change the contract or cancel it.

LATE CLASS CANCELATION POLICY

  • For group classes, we kindly ask that you cancel within 4 hours of class start time to avoid incurring a late cancellation fee. Cancellations should be made online or on the app through MIND BODY. Should a class need to be rescheduled for a different class time on the same day, please make those changes online or on the app by selecting the late/early cancel option to the scheduled class and then adding the desired class.
  • For private, duet, and reformer appointments we kindly ask that you provide at least a 24-hour notice prior to your scheduled session. Please contact the studio number via text at (203)519-7496 or email us at admin@spynepilates.com.  Cancellations made with less than a 24-hour notice will be charged at the full price of the session.
  • If you contact us via social media messaging, we might not see it on time. Please ONLY cancel via text or email.
  • For the well-being of our studio and our instructors, please note our cancellation policy:
  • 4 hours advance notice of cancellation is required for classes. A no-show is treated as a late cancellation—you will lose the class.
  • 24 hours advance notice of cancellation is required for private, semi-private sessions and reformer classes. A no-show is treated as a late cancel—you will lose the session.
  • If cancellations are not done in the app or website, they must be emailed to admin@spynepilates.com –telephone messages are not sufficient. If you discuss the cancellation with us verbally, please email or text to confirm. For cancellations without advance notice as stated above, the client will be charged for the session.
  •  If a client is less than 15 minutes late for a private or semi-private session, the session will be abbreviated and end at the scheduled time. If a client is more than 15 minutes late the session will be canceled, and the client will be charged for the session. We try to be flexible and understand that sometimes there are special circumstances for cancellation.
  • Instructors may deny students late entry to classes if there is a concern about safety. Classes build progressively from the warm-up, so please arrive on time.

SALES AND REFUNDS

  • Pilates and Barre prices are subject to change without notice.
  • All clients with contracts (limited and unlimited) are required to have a valid credit card on file.
  • Instructors and schedules are subject to change at any time without notice.
  • SPYNE Pilates Studio reserves the right to refuse service.
  • Payment must be made at the time of booking. Time slots cannot be reserved without payment.
  • Please note the expiration date of your sessions. This date varies depending on your package and will appear on your receipt. Gift Certificates do not expire.
  • The minimum age for group classes is 16, with parental or guardian consent, age limit is reduced for specialty classes or series.  For private sessions, it is up to the discretion of the owner and instructor.
  • Children under 8 years old may not be in the studio without supervision.  Please do not bring young children to your sessions.  If you have questions, please email us.
  • SPYNE Pilates Studio allows up to 2 people to be on a waitlist for a class.  You must have classes available for use from your pack or membership in order to join a waitlist, but one won’t be used unless you are bumped into the class. If the system says “call”, or doesn’t offer a waitlist option, it’s likely there are already 2 people on the waitlist. The system will only automatically bump you into a class if there is still time to cancel without being penalized.  If a cancellation occurs after that period, you won’t be automatically bumped into the class. Please monitor your status on the waitlist–if you see a spot is open, add yourself to the class or email admin@spynepilatess.com and we can place you in the class.  If you can no longer attend, please remove yourself from the waitlist.  If someone late cancels, we will reach out to people on the waitlist to see if they would like to attend–be on the lookout for an email or text.
